Phantom of the Opera/New York cake

Y
My cousin turned 16 and her mom was taking her to New York City for the weekend to watch "The Phantom of the Opera". She asked me to do a cake that would be used to reveal the surprise. I made the mask out of fondant and covered the 2 tier chocolate pound cake with white fondant. I then used black fondant to make a cape to go down the back of the cake and to make beads to go around the top layer. I used it also to make a city scape of NYC to go around the bottom. I finished it off with a real red rose.

Little Einsteins

This was made with cutouts of the characters and ships that I laminated and were perfect to stand up in the cake.

Uterus

I had a strange request. Someone was having a hysterectomy and wanted to celebrate, so here it is:

What to do with extra icing

When I have extra icing, I hate to throw it away. Most of the time, it's a little of this and a little of that, so it's crazy to save it. So, sometimes I let my kids decorate something for them. On this particular day, I drew the bear, and they filled it in. It was a good lesson for my 7, 5, and 3 year old on how to hold the bag so that icing didn't come out of the top. It was very memorable afternoon with my sweethearts!

Monogram

This was a graduation cake for someone. These are the colors used in her room that matched the decorations for the party.

Hula Girl

This was patterned after their invitation. It was for a Lual birthday theme.

Owl 1st birthday

This was for a first birthday. It matched her invitation, plates, napkins, etc. It was half sheet cake size.

This was her little smash cake.

Sombrero cake. The bottom is a 12 inch 2 layer cake.

I pod

I Pod Cake. I made the apps with starbursts. Fun teenager cake.

Dinosaur Birthday

This is a cake designed to look just like the invitation.

Disney Themed Cake

We had a joint birthday party for my 3 year old daughter and my 1 year old daughter. Since we were going to Disney World a few months after their party, we chose a Disney theme. The small Minnie Mouse cake was the baby's cake she could eat for her 1st birthday. The two tier cake was for them both, but the 3 year old blew the candle out on it. I found some edible images from Walmart that I used around the sides of the cake.

Chevrolet Fan

This was a cake for a big Chevrolet fan who was turning 60.

Train cake

I used popscicle sticks for the tracks with a little icing across them. The mom of the little boy provided several trains to go on the cake.

Angel cake

A sweet little angel cake for a sweet little girl. I used edible glitter on the dress and sparkly gel for the wings.
